1) I’ve tried other heel pain products, including custom orthotics. What
makes HTP Heel Seats so different?

You can walk into any drugstore or sporting goods store and pick up custom orthotic inserts designed to add a bit of extra cushioning to your shoes. While these can provide added comfort to healthy feet, they are not intended as a treatment for medical conditions. HTP Heel Seats feature patented Fascia-Bar technology, specifically designed to treat severe heel pain, Plantar Fasciitis and heel spurs. HTP Heel Seats are the result of 30 years of research by a world-famous physician whose patented design realigns the loose or damaged plantar fascia ligament, which spans the arch of the foot. Simultaneously, HTP Heel Seats provide therapeutic acupressure to the heel bone, prompting the human body’s natural healing processes. Heel That Pain holds the Fascia-Bar patent. You will not find this technology in any other orthotic.

2) Can Heel Seats be worn in conjunction with custom orthotics or other
shoe inserts (i.e. shoes cushions, arch supports, etc.)?

No. Do not combine HTP Heel Seats with any other orthotic or shoe insert. Doing so will disrupt your body’s biomechanical balance and could lead to injury, rather than healing. HTP Heel Seats are specifically designed to treat Plantar Fasciitis and should never be worn in conjunction with any other product. It is fine to leave the insoles that came with your shoes in place, but do not add additional support beyond your HTP Heel Seats.

3) I only have pain in one foot. Can I wear only one Heel Seat?

It is very common for Plantar Fasciitis and heel spurs to occur in one foot only. However, you will be purchasing a pair of HTP Heel Seats that are designed to be worn on both feet, enabling your body to strike a balance. Wearing HTP Heel Seats in only one shoe can upset your body’s biomechanical balance and inhibit healing. We recommend putting a complete pair of HTP Heel Seats in each of your favorite pairs of shoes.

4) How do I wear the Heel Seats in my shoes?
The Heel Seats should be worn as a pair on top of the original insole of your shoes. They are designed to be worn in any pair of shoes with a full backing and should always be worn without additional shoe inserts or orthotics. On the bottom of each Heel Seat you will find the letters (R) Right and (L) Left, which corresponds to which Heel Seat goes in the correct shoe. Remember, it is important to use the inserts in both shoes, even if you only have pain in one of your heels.

5) What kind of shoes can I wear the Heel Seats in and can they be
interchanged from shoe to shoe?

HTP Heel Seats can be worn in any pair of shoes that have a closed backing on the heel. Unlike some orthotics, HTP Heel Seats do not have adhesive components, meaning that you can easily lift them out and place them in whichever pair of shoes you plan to wear each day. For convenience, many of our customers purchase several pairs of HTP Heel Seats so that all of their favorite shoes are ready-to-go, but this is not essential. Feel free to purchase one pair and use it in all of your shoes.

6) Do HTP Heel Seats provide arch support?

HTP Heel Seats were developed to treat conditions involving the plantar fascia ligament and heel. They are not intended to address medical problems requiring arch support.

7) What type of material are the Heel Seats made of?

HTP Heel Seats are constructed of sturdy, flexible KRATON.This material is a soft type of rubber that has a closed cell structure to ensure that these inserts do not absorb any moisture, sweat, or bacteria. Additionally, the structure and texture of KRATON prevent HTP Heel Seats from slipping or sliding in your shoes.

8) How long do I need to wear the Heel Seats before I can expect relief
and healing?

The majority of our customers report significant relief within 1-8 days of daily wear of HTP Heel Seats. Be advised, however, that Plantar Fasciitis is a serious condition, and may require up to a year to be completely resolved. By committing to daily wear of your specialized orthotics, combined with adequate rest, icing and heel stretches, you will be making a maximum effort to attain complete healing in the least possible time.

9) Can I expect to feel any discomfort while wearing the Heel Seats?

Some discomfort may be experienced when first putting on HTP Heel Seats. You may experience a feeling of mild pressure or an aching sensation between the heel and the arch of the foot. These sensations stem from the healing action being performed by the Fascia-Bar technology that makes HTP Heel Seats so effective in treating Plantar Fasciitis. The Fascia-Bar gently stretches the plantar fascia ligament spanning the arch of your foot while realigning it into a healthy position. These modalities strengthen the ligament tissue and enable healing. Some customers also report sporadic bouts of pain on some days, but no pain on others. These symptoms tend to be temporary, occurring during the first four weeks of usage of HTP Heel Seats while the feet are adjusting to the mode of treatment.

10) How often should I replace the Heel Seats?
On average, we recommend that you replace your HTP Heel Seats every six months. This recommendation is based on average consumer use. More physically active customers may need to replace their inserts more frequently, while more sedentary individuals may not need to replace them as often. HTP Heel Seats are durable, but as they become worn down, the effectiveness of their treatment modalities lessens. If the relief you have experienced with your HTP Heel Seats becomes less after several months of use, inspect them for signs of wear. If the padding or other features look worn down, it may be time to replace the product. HTP Heel Seats can be gently hand-washed with mild soap and cold water, but should only be washed if necessary. They are designed to be inherently hygienic and anti-bacterial.

13) What is the difference between gel and original Heel Seats?

Gel Heel Seats were designed to meet the needs of Plantar Fasciitis sufferers who found original HTP Heel Seats to be too rigid for comfortable daily wear. Original HTP Heel Seats are crafted of Kraton, which is a soft yet strong material. While Kraton is comfortable for most wearers, those with extremely sensitive feet may find Gel Heel Seats to be a better option. Both versions of Heel Seats offer identical treatment mechanisms, including the Fascia-Bar. HTP Heel Seats are our most popular product, but if you find them uncomfortable for daily wear, please try Gel Heel Seats.

14) What is the Fascia-Bar?

Heel That Pain holds the patent to the Fascia-Bar, a revolutionary invention designed to treat Plantar Fasciitis and heel pain. The Fascia-Bar gently stretches and realigns the plantar fascia ligament, which may have become damaged due to the condition known as Plantar Fasciitis. Only Heel That Pain’s orthotics feature Fascia-Bar technology. In a double blind study conducted by the University of Iowa, Fascia-Bar technology was deemed to be twice as effective as a leading brand product for the treatment of Plantar Fasciitis.

15) What will happen if I don’t treat my heel pain?

If you have been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis, it’s extremely important that you take steps to treat it. Don’t ignore your heel pain. If left untreated, Plantar Fasciitis can result in debilitating pain, limping and a loss of quality in your daily life. On this website, you will find abundant free educational information to help you understand how to treat and heal Plantar Fasciitis.
